With the Lions cruising against the Dallas Cowboys, Pro Bowl edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson suffered a serious leg injury while sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Pro Football Doc has a pretty good hit rate on these things. Hutch’s season is over. No playoff return. He said it’s likely 100% recovery for 2025. It is not an Alex Smith level injury.
I finally got to see a video of the leg. It turned into jello. I hope modern technology is better for Hutch. Joe Theismann never played again, but this is nearly 40 years on.
Just wish Aidan the quickest and most complete recovery possible. It doesn't matter how long it takes. As far as the team goes, thank goodness they didn't trade or release Houston.
If this turns out to be true, it would be a favorable outcome all things considered. Thoughts are with that man tonight, he is a warrior and the epitome of what this Lions’ program is about.
I’m just gonna say it and be that guy. Hutch is the heart and soul of our D. We ain’t winning a Super Bowl without him. Maybe if we weren’t already down another starting DE. If it’s really Super Bowl or bust, we HAVE to go get Max Crosby. Just do it.
Super Bowl-level teams overcome injuries even to star players. We've got this (and I fully expect a top-tier DE to arrive via trade within two weeks). Speedy recovery to Hutch, let's hope it's just a broken bone.
I'm heartbroken for him. For this team. Man it just sucks. You know he was gonna make the clutch defensive play to go or win the Superbowl. He's that dude.
It’s a pretty gruesome injury, but depending on severity (just bones versus bones + ligaments or arteries), he could be back for the playoffs but I’m not holding out hope. The main thing at this point is his health for the long haul, then his career, then this season.

This is hopeful news in spite of him being hurt at all. Hope it is not worse; and I hear he’s going right into surgery staying in Dallas.

I found this study very interesting as we are all reading tea leaves:

From an ortho I know...
I just rewound it, pretty sure he broke his tibua
I think you can see the break, similar to Kevin Ware.
If I’m right, Means surgery tonight.
Walking on crutches by next week.
Walking without crutches by Halloween.
Jogging by Christmas.
Really no safe return for 6 months.
But he will play again at 90% next yesr

Tough stuff. Just get well, Aidan. Everything else will be ok.

Nah. This is more than a one man team.
The worst so horrible
Since I live in Charleston and have to watch Carolina, this is horrible news…
I live in Charlotte now, and trust me you don’t HAVE to watch Carolina.

I’m very sad
Fuuuu

I do hope you are correct, Erik. Hopefully of fast surgery and maybe we can get him back this season.
I know when I broke my wrist that they put screws in it. I could use it again in less than a week.
This is terrible news, it looked bad, I hope it not🙏🙏
