Unable to recapture the impact of his electric rookie season two years earlier, the Lions opted to part ways with defensive end James Houston on Tuesday.
Not many 6th round picks survive all that long in the NFL. The Jones thing is a bit intriguing if for nothing else than insurance. Can the Lions lose number 8 in a row on Thanksgiving Thursday? Naw...the Bears have impressed against exactly nobody.
Justin- was Houston’s 8 sacks as a rookie more of a no film and teams underestimating him vs. now teams see it so his speed rush is less effective? Even if he is just good at that one thing, but really good it seems like we could use a guy who can rush the passer on 3rd and long and cover snaps on special teams…
If sitting Davis against Chicago will hopefully pay dividends in the long run, so be it... puts a ton of extra pressure on the rest of the D with those WRs and Swift though.
Strange mixed messaging from player and coach on Decker.
Unfortunate that Houston lost his ability to bend. Looking forward to seeing Moseley and how he does other than special teams. Vildor was lost against Indy...hope he finds himself on Thursday...geez.
It's probably Thanksgiving nerves but I'm absolutely terrified of Montez Sweat against Skipper as well as DJ Moore against Vildor. Feel like the injuries really benefit the Bears best two players. Even if Arnold follows Moore, I'll still be worried about Allen and Onduze if the Lions can't get consistent pressure.

Great stuff Justin.
