The Lions were already thin at wide receiver, but needed a little extra depth coming into Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after undrafted rookie Isaiah Williams was ruled out with a mid-week abdominal injury.
Only tangentially related, but how do these guys get paid when they’re elevated? Is it still just practice squad pay, or is there enhanced cash if you suit up?
Only to stop the Brian monopoly, lol. JK I hope Patrick is the answer that the Lions are hoping. Big frame, decent speed and sticky hands. Can't wait for tomorrow.
DPJ is sure getting a long leash... if he's not cracking the lineup by now it feels increasingly unlikely that the light bulb will turn on at any point.
He will now forever be known as Tom "Blankie" Kennedy.
Does practice squad time count towards retirement, or is it only weeks when they’re elevated/activated?
The latter.

Vet min, one week salary. It's about 3-4x pay bump for the week.
My understanding is they get a minimum NFL player check for their level of experience prorated to that game.
Good idea to elevate Patrick. DPJ is still waiting. Kennedy is just the insurance. We are thin at WR- really.
Two WRs a bad sign for 9’s ankle?
No. They elevated Kennedy last week with Isaiah on the roster. Isaiah is out, so that spot is being replaced by Patrick.

Pumped! Feel like people are sleeping on how good he can be.
two simultaneous first comments by Brians it's a sign. Lions win Sunday.
