The Detroit Lions are going to continue to focus on the next game , but as outside observers, we’re permitted to take a broader look at the remainder of the regular season and how the postseason picture is developing.
If MN loses to CHI, the Eagles lose to Pitt, and we beat Buffalo... our game in Chicago becomes the game to clinch the #1 seed. Which would earn us a 3-week bye.
Maybe the Pittsburgers will knock off the Eagles who barely got by the Panthers who nearly beat the Chiefs. Maybe the glorious Pack play like the glorious Pack and knock off the over-rated Vikings. That would make the road to NOLA a bit less dicey for the Lions. Hope, baby, hope...well that was the old Lions. For the new Lions it's go out and bust some butt and chew on some kneecaps.
The Lions only need 3 more victories to secure the #1 seed. Doesn't matter where the loss comes from. They hold all the tiebreakers for it. If they win the next three games, they clinch and effectively have a TWO-WEEK BYE, as the Minnesota game would be meaningless.
This is what I've seen as well. But it's funny that it really makes the Bills game matter more. All 4 games are equally as important, let's not lose our buffer this week!
So if Detroit wins 3 of 4 remaining games they clinch the #1 seed because they hold all the tie breakers with MIN and PHI

Minnesota's lips be flapping... the old NFL guard is predictably talking up the Iggles... Josh Allen this and Josh Allen that...
THE LIONS GOT THIS.
Thanks for this, that’s a lot of math and analysis to work through.

Crazy to think that at 12-1 the Lions still have to get to 15-2 to be conference champs!
