Watching from home, I heard the whistle right before tor at he two minute warning (the whistle may have been at snap, or milliseconds after, but there was an audible whistle to stop play), the TV announcers were off base.
I watched it several times in the press box, full volume, and couldn't hear it until after the snap. But I'm 43, so who knows what tones I no longer hear well.
OK, I only watched it live and know I heard a whistle which should have stopped play. I did not have the luxury to rewatch to get the timing. Regardless of when it was blown it was blown, and the announcers seemed to say that they never heard a whistle. I was hoping that it was an offsides unabated to the QB call (trying to make sense as to why I heard a whistle), then grateful for the two minute warning and cancelled play.
Oh my god I swear I heard it too. Still not sure whether we were both hearing things or not but at least it’s nice knowing I’m not the only one hearing things if so haha.
Yeah, same. And when Goff got up it looked to me like he was annoyed that he was taken down post-whistle as opposed to disappointed in the result of the play.
Easily the worst half of offense I've seen in a long, long time.
The defense played a complete game and were great.
The hook and ladder was awesome.
We really, REALLY need to play better offense in the 2nd half of games. Not sure what the problem is, but we went from perfect to incompetent during halftime.
Well, in the 2nd half Goff went 6-11 for like 50 yards, an INT and no TDs. I don't think we got a first down in the 3rd quarter, and we literally scored zero points through an entire half of football. That's not an offense that can expect to compete for a championship. Defense won that game and our offense needs to figure it out.
Arizona is a lot better than anyone expected them to be coming into this season. I think they're going to hang around all year.
I believe Seattle has beaten Detroit the last three times and it might even be the last four. So this is a revenge game, very tired of losing to the Hawks.
The collision between Branch and the Cards TE was really frightening. I thought we might have a Reggie Brown / Damar Hamlin kind of deal there for a few moments.
PJ, thanks for that depressing information. I'm sure Dan Campbell and staff are making sure the Lions players know this. Now, I won't even be happy with just a win. I want a rout, an epic ass kicking over the SeaChickens!
The Card should have been kicked out of the game....Branch was waist high low from the get go.....the Cardinal followed him down low and speared him with his helmet...That could have ended both of them, it was bad.
Our time of possession was superior though thanks to frequent rush plays coupled with first downs. It wasn’t flashy at all and of course I’d like for it to be better, but the basic mission was nevertheless accomplished. I wouldn’t call that the worst half of offense I’ve seen today in the NFL, let alone the “worst offense I’ve seen in a long, long time.”
Look, we won, so I get folks are happy. But the bottom line is you can't put up a goose egg for an entire half of football and expect to be a championship-caliber team. Goff had a terrible half and the only reason we (barely) won is because our defense played lights out. So, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but if we want to be great we can't play like we played today. Period.
I just think the offense was a 3/10 instead of a 1/10. Not good at all! Just not literally the worst. But conversely, I think our defensive play is well worth celebrating!
Surprisingly, that 5th week bye might be more advantageous that we expected. This game showed us the depth of the Lions especially slowing down Arizona's offense as injuries mounted.
Hope for the best on the injury front. Defense was really good. Offense was better. Punt game was excellent. A missed XP for Bates. Still haven't played a complete game yet.
Nevertheless, we were certainly the better team today. It’s nice whenever that happens still. Knowing that we were the superior team really doesn’t get old no matter how many times our current Lions play, huh?

they are ALWAYS talking...so prolly not a good judge of what they hear or dont hear in a loud stadium.
Oh my god I swear I heard it too. Still not sure whether we were both hearing things or not but at least it’s nice knowing I’m not the only one hearing things if so haha.
I agree, I swear I heard a whistle, and it seemed like a handful of players on both sides stopped playing.

See ball...run with ball.
I really didn’t think it was that bad, honestly. We played the clock kill game and we played it… adequately.
I agree, the Cardinals defense was selling out to stop the run. One concern is it's taking longer for Glasgow to get used to playing LG

We haven't beaten Seattle since 2012, and including the 2016 playoffs, have lost 6 in a row against them.

We lost the last two because our defense got cooked by Geno Smith. I like our chances much better this time.

It’s very nice to have a defense again!
*For the second half, specifically
Jack Fox should get a game ball. That man flipped the field multiple times.
