The Packers looked like they didn't want to be playing the Lions. Maybe Love was playing hurt, but after Branch was gone, the Lions D was virtually missing half its starters. The Pack wasn't ready for prime time and played like it. I was not impressed with Green Bay.
I attended this game with my wife and son. First Lions game since Thanksgiving game in the early 80's in the Silverdome. The conditions today were brutal. Obviously it rained, but the wind was strong and the temps stayed in the low 40's. I would say about 20% of the fans were Lions fan, and we were very vocal. The St. Brown touchdown happened right in front of us. Unbelievable body control.
And again, our punter, in the rain and wind still was able to flip the field a few times!
I don't know why I'm surprised, but the Branch ejection was way more controversial than I thought it would be. I don't like it, but I don't have any problems with him being ejected. I don't think you can have a hit like that in the game.
Hits exactly the same as that happen literally every single week in the NFL and they don't get ejected. If you want to set the bar that that is ejectable, that is fine, but be consistent and carry it across all calls. There were at least three other similar hits yesterday, including one that sent a player to the hospital, and none of them got ejected.
I happen to think offensive players shouldn't be allowed to lower their heads and concuss defensive players any more than defensive players should be, but I'm not sure we're ready for that conversation.
Ridiculous ejection of Branch. Even when we’re good the league screws the Lions in Green Bay. I agreed with the penalty but that’s all it should have been. Not a targeting foul at all.
After branch FOH’d on his way to the locker room, this team fed on the emotion where in the past they withered in it. Another thing that has changed in the Campbell era that wasn’t noticed until now. There’s no going back now

Hard core!

I agree, it should be enforced consistently.

I thought he might have been trying to shoulder him.
They showed an opposite angle (once) where it seemed like he was trying to hit him with his left forearm simultaneously.
