Levi is going to prosper this season ! Have not heard much on Josh P. He could come up big also. D is being put together strategically and I think we see it come to fruition Now. Super excited for season and really am enjoying this platform!
You are correct, talent level wise I think Tannehill is the choice. However, Sudfeld's role is so much more than backing up Goff. He helps Goff prepare and knows this offense and Goff well.
I respect that opinion yet will simply agree to disagree. He as a Lion could be said prior to last year that his problems with the offense were not a talent issue. It is a testimony to the coaches that helped him become who he is today as for a while he was simply bruised fruit recently discarded and disrespected by the Rams. My observation was it affected him.
I guess my argument is that it doesn't matter what the fans think to Goff. They could clamoring all they want for a backup. It's because our coaching staff is so strong and open and honest that it won't matter if the fans turn on him. This coaching staff believes in Goff and have truly empowered him to be the best QB he can be. That can't be said about his last team.
I would think they have to sign someone at QB just as insurance in case Sudfeld gets hurt. I hope Sudfeld has a better game for both his and the Lions receivers sake. Would really like Fountain to show in a game what he's been doing in practice.

We can all hope that chronic back injury simply vanishes.
I really hope levi shows up and shows out this year
I would rather have Tannehill than Sudfeld. Not sure how expensive he would be though.

That said, if Goff ever got hurt. Oh boy....
I am not sure the level of talent they want behind Goff. Tannehill would be the Lions fan most favorite player if Goff hit a rough stretch.
I don't think that's a factor at all. Goff seems very mentally strong. This coaching staff is honest and up front so he knows where he stands.
