The Lions selected guard Miles Frazier, defensive end Ahmed Hassanein, safety Dan Jackson and Dominic Lovett on Saturday. Here's what we learned from conference calls with the prospects.
Still hard to believe they drafted Hassanein. I started digging on him after day one of Senior Bowl practice when he dominated.
Thing is the more I looked on this guy the more I wanted him and I'm sure it was the same way for Holmes and Campbell, seriously, this is GRIT. The tape is good and he sure can use some NFL coaching, he probably has more pass rush potential than some think. Not impossible he is a starting DE by next year.
Nice they can put the workout buddies Rakestraw and Lovett back together, they will go head-to-head a lot in camp.
Speaking of Lovett and Jackson, I feel better about them after a little digging and their conference calls. Justin has talked me down from the window, for now.
I’m excited about this draft class and the team’s future. Every one of these men seems to be a culture fit. Can’t express how important that is. Great article, Justin.
It’s hard to over-compliment this FO, but to find a BH/DC dude who is also a trailblazing dude going to Dearborn’s team is a work of art. I just hope it works out, he sounds like he’s going to fit right in.

Can we call Hassanein “The Assassin” and also he’s my favorite Lion now so he better make the team.
Man, if he's anything on the field, he's going to be as popular as Malcolm Rodriguez was as a rookie.
