The second day of the NFL's legal tampering period started slowly but finished with around four dozen players reaching agreements with new teams or re-signing with their current employers.
Is anyone else disappointed in the moves? Our D line is not any better than last year and that was a problem. I just don't get why we didn't bolster our biggest weakness while the rest of our division got a lot better.
Maybe evaluate that after the draft? Lions were never going to spend big in FA for defensive line help -- and really, which FA would have fit here ($-wise). Plus, the contract extensions for key players this year and next are not small (imo), so being cautious in forward cap commitments feels...smart? (I mean seriously who has ever used 'smart' and Lions in the same sentence)
Holmes remains consistent in using the draft to bolster roster weaknesses - see also: RB, WR, S, CB, LB, OL :) With this draft being deep in DL, it wouldn't surprise me to see Holmes snag multiple defensive lineman, as he did with CB last year.
I have a feeling that CJGJ will find a reason to be upset, even with that ring on his hand. Kind of his natural state of being, it seems.
Brad normally grabs a few FAs off the bargain pile after the big spenders are finished.

I like our haul in free agency. Now we need to sign a cheaper/hungry safety back up.
