The Detroit Lions continue to focus their free-agency energy on retaining their own, announcing the re-signing of Tim Patrick on Friday morning.
Patrick, who joined the Lions days ahead of the 2024 season after he was released by Denver, quickly established himself as the team's No. 3 receiver alongside All-Pro Amon-Ra St. Brown and former first-round pick Jameson Williams.
Returning to action after missing the previous two seasons with lower-leg injuries, Patrick appeared in the final 16 games for the Lions, logging 649 snaps. He was targeted 44 times and caught 33 of those passes for 394 yards, 20 first downs and three touchdowns.
"He fits us, just the way he is, the way he works, his attention to detail, and he brings a little something different to us," Lions coach Dan Campbell said last season. "He's a big guy. He's a big target, he's physical, he's tough, so I'm glad he's here."
Patrick joins Derrick Barnes, Levi Onwuzurike, Marcus Davenport, Ezekiel Turner, Anthony Pittman, Myles Adams and Trevor Nowaske as players the Lions have already re-signed this offseason. The team is also expected to re-up with offensive tackle Dan Skipper and reserve running back Craig Reynolds.
The 6-foot-4, 212-pound Patrick remains a short-term solution for the Lions. He will turn 32 during the 2025 season.
That’s great news.
Nice! He seemed to be a great fit, hopefully another year will refine that!
