Yeah, camp is the right time to go hard. The camp observations just adds a layer to the daily workload, that makes it more tiring, but balance will be better restored once I get into the season. But I'll always write at a good clip. Glad you're enjoying.
On Day 3 of camp, I have next to no concern. I thought he was really good earlier in the offseason. Let the pads come on and allow him to jam and we'll reassess the situation.
Blocking for a back is the hardest skill early on so I'm glad to see Vaki getting off to a strong start there. From the first Tampa game last season, we already knew Craig took it serious. And the competition is good, but it's also different in a good way. Whoever "loses the 3rd spot will have a bigger presence in the new kicking game, so they have the competition there to push for the spot while also needing both to be ready for special teams which will have a new kind of impact going forward.
Hooker news is promising. While the inconsistencies are expected this early, the consistency of showing flashes of the the potential on a regular basis is promising. It's showing that even if he recognizes the mistakes, they aren't dragging him down into a spiral like we've seen happen so many times in the past. Having a short memory is often overlooked but might be the most important skill for a young QB to have.
Funny story, I once ran into Jack Fox out and about in Detroit. Well, more appropriately, he ran into me. I was watching a college football game with friends, having some beers, and I very, very embarrassingly didn't recognize Jack when he said hello. I blame it on his baseball cap covering his hair, but that's just me making excuses. Still shake my head over that one.
Safety Morice Norris and wide receiver Jalon Calhoun are two who have caught my eye a couple times this week. Really thought Isaiah Williams would be more of a thing, but he's been really quite the first few months here.
Who are the usual suspects?
You’re writing at a good clip. Very happy with my sub

Hey Justin, obviously early and just going by what you and others have written, but it sounds like Davis III has been getting beaten quite a bit
Any concern there?

Been wondering about DPJ and his role. Assuming Kalif might move almost exclusively to Specials with the new kickoff rules, is he the clear #3?
I'd lean toward Raymond being in line for most of the No. 3 reps, but there's still time for others, including DPJ, to eat some of that pie.

Absolutely loving the content. Bringing back the days of Tom K. For me, when I’d start off my day with a cup of coffee and checking in on mlive.
Glad to know that #3 Jack Fox is human. Was waiting on confirmation. Thank you.
There are times where I need that confirmation.

Really happy to see Barnes advancing. Have you noticed any of the UFDAs performing exceptional? Any we should be keeping an eye out for?
