Allen Park – Here are some notes and observations from the Detroit Lions' Wednesday training camp practice, their first of the 2024 season. Detroit Football Network is a reader-supported publication.
I can't remember if it was Campbell that said it in OTA's, but I think Jamo just taking the offseason serious is the biggest change. He had to watch the first year. Last year was getting the work done but it was like a rookie offseason for him. I think he finally realized he needed to do more and he's done it. I don't think you can be around Amon-Ra and not have the work ethic start to rub off on you. If he gets even close to that level of off the field work, watch out.
Enjoying DFN! I’m concerned about the safety depth. Rewatching last season I see Kirby make big plays but more often I see him out of position or missing tackles. Hard to tell if I’m reading too much into it since the CB play was so poor. Your thoughts?
Your camp observations were read almost verbatim on lions talk by chat sports and you were not credited. Seems like they should mention you and your new venture if they are going to use your stuff. Enjoyed your camp update!
That kind of stuff used to bother me more, and while I'm not familiar with the program, my guess is they're just trying to make a name for themselves and don't have a full grasp on etiquette. I'm glad they enjoy my reporting enough to be a source of inspiration for their own platform, and maybe they'll get better at crediting and promoting as they grow through education of fans such as yourself. Thanks for thinking to look out for me.
It's a little thin, but it's also not, especially if Branch ends up spending more time there. Biggest concern would be with Joseph and Melifonwu's durability. You can get by with C.J. Moore for a brief time in a pinch, if it gets to that point.
The gauntlet was pulling the trigger on the launch. Everything going forward is about serving quality, quality, quality. Speed comes natural, but being timely is more important than being first. Appreciate you.
I read "yards after catch" when reading the title so the barf caught me off guard. 🤣

I also think seeing his teammates getting PAID may have added some extra motivation

MicroMike has been around awhile so he should know by now. Hopefully someone says something to him.
Awesome News Coverage Justin.
Glad to be on board!
It's interesting seeing Moseley at Nickel.
I was wondering where he might fit in in this secondary.
Safety depth seems thin, so I thought he might be a candidate for some camp reps there.

Great to hear Moseley was on the field too!
Nice update — and you were the first on the beat to get your camp notes out today too. DFN throwing down the gauntlet!

The first day of camp is finally here! So exciting for this team. From the Campbell presser to hearing about Jamo. Thanks, Justin and let's go!
