Remember, media only sees a fraction of the kicks during OTAs. We're only permitted to come to one of three practices each sequence, and much of the special teams work happens inside, away from the rest of practice. Turner was intriguing, and had a monster of a leg (best this side of Prater in Detroit), but sample size was small. There were kickoff concerns with him, but nothing he couldn't develop with added reps.
Thank you for the updates! Really nice to hear how into it the crowd is. Such a change that is awesome to be a part of. Looking forward to being there Thursday!
It will be interesting to see who the Lions bring in for the kicking competition. Just because Bates has the leg, doesn't mean he has the precision. I would rather hit driver 250 accurately than 375 and who the hell knows where it's going.
Love the multiple stories each day. Any ideas on who they've brought in for kicker competition? I'm not overly concerned with one or two of Bates struggles, but if it happens consistently...
Have you noticed an overall change in attitudes? Like are they expecting to win instead of just being confident?
You could feel the energy in the stands. Also, shout out to the team for making the upgrades and making watching conditions ideal. I was top row right where Jamo was doing his pre practice work and it was fantastic.
Agude being productive would be a massive win for the Lions. Finding a productive guy on the fringes is how theyve stayed so competitive
From what I remember James Turner made more kicks in OTA’s than the Money Badger. I wonder where he came up short to lose the mini battle. Experience?

My imagined visual of Kerby Joseph "[spraying] the pile of humanity like he was popping champagne at the club" is remarkably vivid.
The podcast feature if nice. I would rather read but I'm normally busy. So being able to multi-task is nice.

They brought in Matt Ammendola, Lucas Havrisik, Matthew McCrane and Andre Szmyt for tryouts. No signing, yet.

You didn't chant my name, Dan. Disappointed.
Saving it for Sunday Night Football!
