The Detroit Lions made it clear they wanted to lock up Joseph this offseason. On Wednesday, they got it done, agreeing to a new four-year deal with the All-Pro.
In Brad We Trust. But..never felt quite as comfortable with KJ’s maturity - vs the other Lions’ big-money extensions. My gut says Branch over Joseph. Can they retain both? Doesn’t seem like it.
Great points Tom and KJs improvement is also undeniable. But who’ll be the best pro over two contracts if you must choose. Thats about dedication and I’m going BB.
This is interesting take because KJ only knock around the league is a dirty player, where Branch's maturity can be questioned multiple times in his young career starting with the 2 bird salute in Green Bay. Personally not worried about either but I would say Branch has more fines and suspensions due to emotions than KJ has.

The numbers on this will be interesting. The back end of this pushes into the next TV deals and salary cap explosion.
My guess is 30 mil will be in that 4th year and not guaranteed meaning it's really a 3 year commitment for 54 mil, an average of 18 mil a year.
I think the Jamo trade rumors are gaining steam. With Hutch, Laporta, Branch, Gibbs and Campbell all looking at big deals. Can’t keep all of them
If history holds true they will announce a deal with Hutchinson tomorrow and Stephen Jones will curse his father for waiting on Parsons
I figured when they had him throw out the first pitch at the Tigers game a deal was likely imminent.
Outstanding job, Justin!
Aww yiss 😎
