But that’s exactly the daunting task former Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate faced when he served as a broadcast analyst for the team’s preseason opener against the New York Giants last Thursday.
“Yeah, this was the first live bullets I had,” Tate said in an exclusive interview during Monday night’s Lions practice. “I've been prepping for it on Zoom with my coach, talking through stuff, but in reality, I was a rookie all over again. First time walking into the stadium and being in that environment.”
