Didn’t we just do this?
After decades of NFL teams not being remotely interested in hiring away a Detroit Lions coordinator, the team has lost its second in three days.
On Wednesday, defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn reached an agreement to become the next head coach of the New York Jets, the franchise that drafted him in the first round three decades ago. His exit follows offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who was introduced as the Chicago Bears coach in a press conference hours earlier.
So, as Dan Campbell expected, he’ll be on the search for new leadership at the two most critical spots on his staff. On Monday, we covered more than a dozen potential options for the offensive coordinator vacancy and we’re back with a fresh batch of names to take Glenn’s spot in Detroit.
As with our previous list, we’ve divided it up between internal and external candidates with both presented in alphabetical order by last name.
