I was a mailbagger once at your old gig. It’s my fave segment and I’m glad to see it here. I continue to read everything you put up and truly appreciate your fantastic coverage.
stellar first mailbag... no drop off in production, as expected. Love your take on Campbell's leadership, mostly because it mirrors my own. Also, very cool to hear that the "access" has been equal, if not slightly better, because of your huge balls.
Great mailbag and thanks for typing out an A to my Q. Stoked to hear your audience is growing faster than you expected. You're doing great work here, and wishing you more success in the coming weeks and months.
Also, since you did a bit of a schedule breakdown, I was wondering about the rotation of the extra Interconference game each year. I know it started 4 years ago the NFC North played at AFC West (Denver I believe), the next year it was home vs Jacksonville (AFC South), last year it was @Baltimore (AFC North), and this year it is Home vs Buffalo (AFC East). I can't seem to find anything that explains this rotation explicitly. My guess would be the extra InterConference Game next year would be the AFC West again, which could mean KC again (probably at KC). I wouldn't have asked this specific question but since I read your one schedule response, I figured I'd let the schedule nerd question fly.
Justin - you are absolutely killing it. Some of the best Lions coverage and great subscriber group commenting and asking the good questions. I hope we can keep this as one of the most civil discussions spots for knowledge Lions fans.
I was actually thinking about the civility today when I was scrolling comments on The Athletic. I genuinely thought they'd be a more respectful community. LOL, nope.
Here's a not so timely question: Did Rod Wood ever say what they lobbied far in regards to the schedule this year. I know he's lobbied for last game of year to be at home before.
"Radii" is pretty elite writing (I am a professional editor). Most sports writers would have chickened out and settled for "radius" even when referring to multiple players' catch radii. This is honestly part of why I subscribed 😆.
I threw in the extra paragraphs to give you context to my question. Your answer is better than I had expected. Thank you.
The lack of production from DPJ and Marvin Jones last year added to my concerns. I figured a full camp with DPJ would get them on the same page. Clearly, the issue is not with Goff.
Marvin Jones essentially retired. That's not a QB problem. DPJ was fine in limited action and couldn't generate separation all preseason (you watched the games). I'm not telling you QBs don't need time to build chemistry. They do. Goff accelerates this with throwing sessions in California. But the skill set and body types of Patrick and Robinson, particularly Patrick because I think he has more left in the tank, leave me unconcerned about the adjustment period.

I don't think it came up this year. Either that, or I asked and there was nothing of consequence to report.
Must've been nothing of consequence because I've only ever heard you write about it in past years after you've asked.
Damn, even the questions are top shelf around here.
Great mailbag article. Really enjoyed reading your answers and everyone's questions. Thank you.
Good show, again. I was just kind of wondering about Arnold. How does he compare to Okudah back when he was the third pick in the 2020 draft?

The real art of being a true writer he is being lost. 😒
I love this comment too much to settle for a simple click of the like button.
Also the mailbag was great. 😁
You edited me! I'm hurt! (no I'm not)

Great stuff! I learned a lot, looking forward to next mailbag already. Thanks
With all the talk about roster depth were you surprised that 3 UDFA made the squad?
LOL, at least one person in the DFN universe has a reason to be happy about the Lions going to Dallas again this year.
Oh, and forgot to mention, this is one of the best mail bags I’ve ever read … can’t wait for more of this feature in the future.
