T-Mac is not a Lion, he apparently came out and stated he doesn’t like watching film and that football is essentially just a job for him. That’ll be a hard pass.
Charles Davis (who is well connected at Tennessee and with Lions DL Coach Kacy Rodgers) and Todd McShay both recently mocked James Pearce Jr to Detroit. I’ve thought since the rumors of his behavior at UT came out that he wasn’t a “grit fit”. So my question what’s right? Is he a guy who doesn’t “Love the game” or has this all been a smokescreen?
I just don't see it happening unless he's willing to take a below market deal. Lions have St. on a big deal, Goff and then they are almost definitely extending LaPorta and Gibbs. If they keep Jamo it's going to cost more than LaPorta and Gibbs contracts given the receiver market.
The Lions don’t have tremendous depth at WR and were lucky on offense last year to stay healthy while the D crumbled. Next year could be the opposite and the results could be significantly more dire. Agree that value needs to be there but I could see and would be happy to see the Lions draft a WR on day 1 or 2.
I might make sense to not trade JaMo next year and get that last year out of him. Still get a comp pick, likely 3rd round just it wouldn't be until the 2027 draft.
This means not only are you getting that one more year of production, it gives you more time to replace him. This might be a good year to look for a Kalif and Patrick replacement, more of a #3/#4 WR with STs ability and can play all of the WR positions.
Then get a WR in the next 2 years when the picking is better.

I hope we keep JaMo.
