Now this is interesting. Everybody is locked in on Meeks being the nephew of Z but did you guys see where he played the 3 years before this last one at Syracuse?
He played 3 years at Georgia where he couldn't get up the depth chart at WR so was a STs monster.
So who was one of those players in Georgia he was fighting for playing time with at Georgia, Lions 2024 7th round pick Lovett. Considering Meeks got the big bonus to sign he might have done better than his former teammate.
This also plays into Holmes saying he visits Georgia practices so he saw both of these two up close and thought it very interesting he got both of them and they must have debated which one to draft. Probably came down to Meeks saying he would sign, smart man.
They have very similar games, it really is one will be the 6th WR and the other going to the practice squad and this battle won't end there.
Wonder if either of them can return punts, guess I should include Teslaa in that. If they are eventually replacing Raymond the Lions will need a punt returner for the future. None of the 3 returned punts in college, none of the 3 have that "jitterbug" quality associated with punt returners
One thing for certain, Tom Kennedy is going to have a real hard time sticking around.
Prieskorn is 25, married with 2 kids and grew up a Lion fan.
His wife has a Tic Toc channel about family life and it's a hit, believe there are over 100,000 followers. They have been looking for a place to call home and raise the kids and I'm sure he will love bringing it back home.
Likely PS guy this year but I think he will be fine with that, no team is going to claim him and probably wouldn't even leave if a team wanted him once on the Lions PS as long as the Lions take care of him, already giving him $75,000.
Next year he should make the team as the #2 TE. High character, family guy that will give everything he has for his family and his team.
His age doesn't bother me because blocking TEs play into their 30's all of the time and he can make a few mil over a career here for his hometown team and raise his family among family.
If there was one position group where they were absolutely loaded up, it was linebacker. They're probably going to have to cut a contributor from last year beyond already letting go of Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
I’m hoping we find another PR/KR soon. Love leaf but I’m all about redundancy

For the first time ever, I am not poring over the details on every UDFA hoping for surprise starters.
For a team as talented as ours, these players will be successes if they make the practice squad.
Which is nice.
Prieskorn is a Michigan kid as well — OLSM. His brother is at UofM right now.

Not a single LB this year in the draft of UDFA that I see

It's crazy how quickly they sign UDFA's after the draft.
Agree is probably the better term. They'll sign once they come into town for rookie minicamp in a couple weeks.
Mutual understanding :-)
