Hendon Hooker had all kinds of accuracy issues during OTAs. Turns out, he dislocated the ring finger on his throwing hand the first practice. That's the one he puts on the laces and dictates his control.
I really like Hendon's upside. I just hope we don't have to see him in the regular season unless we have clinched the #1 seed and we are resting Goff or I guess I would let him in for a few kneel downs!
100% agree competition is healthy. I just cant see a situation, this season, where Hendon even comes close to what Goff brings to the table. As far QB competition, Goff has plenty to keep him motivated.
Agreed. Goff is number one and the only way that changes is injury. I really appreciate that because the 2-3 placements do get that value of Goffs leadership and support.
It would surprise me a little if Hooker is not the 2 at season's start with - hopefully - Nate on PS. Nate #2 on the 53 is certainly a possibility, but the Lions have such a deep roster that it would mean cutting a player they really like in order to make that happen.
This is the Hooker article I needed to read to set my mind at ease on the backup QB spot (from hearing the early doom and gloom reports in OTA’s). Looking forward to tracking his progress for, at least, the next couple of years!
This scoop is the reason we subscribe to the Detroit Football Network. Great interview Justin
Well, not the only reason 😆

I’d love to see him do well enough to put a little pressure on Goff, competition is healthy!

This is the first year in a long time where we really need a solid backup. I hope Hendon can fill that role but if not so be it.

Man, you go back, even to the Caldwell days, and the backup QB situation has probably among the worst in the league most years
Not that they will necessarily have the best or even close to it, but nice to have a backup at least with some upside
I’ll not hear Mike McMahon and Dan Orlovsky slandered like that. 😂
Great read!
