I think they use Moseley as the slot CB where he won't have as many snaps and put Amik as outside CB like he was with the Raiders. Arnold would play CB on the other side and Vildor can stay on ST where he belongs.

Well, let's hope the Bears don't play too ruff since their season is about kaput.

I’m excited to learn how my fellow Vancouverite Manu is coming along in his development. I know he’s unlikely to play, but if you get any scoop on where he’s at, would be great to hear

Last I asked, the focus of the response was strongly toward his mental game and understanding the why of what he was being asked to do with the play calls and presnap adjustments.

I was interested that in the podcast, nobody was falling over themselves to give more points than the spread Thursday. This is going to be a consummate TG game, and it ain’t no gimme. We are gonna be banged up and coaching and grit will be at a premium.

We haven't recorded the episode where we talk spreads yet.

@JustinRogers Couldn’t Amik be an outside option instead of Dorsey, with Moseley at nickel? I know he played outside and slot corner for Oakland. Also, I thought Amon Ra seemed to favor his knee/leg after his third (I think) punt return. Was that where he got dinged?

Answered this in the chat, as well, but there's an increased amount of physicality in the slot due to run game responsibilities. I'm not sure if that's how you want to proceed with someone still working into football shape after two years off.

Understood and good point. Thanks Justin

Forgive me, not Dorsey, Vildor.

Isn’t Khalil Dorsey also a cornerback? Is he a replacement level cornerback?

He is also a cornerback. He is No. 4 on the outside depth chart prior to Moseley's return and was the man who entered the game after Davis went down.

Is there a reason Khalil Dorsey only handles kickoffs and not punts? Presumably if a kick landed in the zone, he'd be expected to shag it and return it. Are the mechanics of catching a punt so different that he's not considered for that role?

They're definitely different, but it's a question worth asking.

So I asked a couple guys in the locker room that have return on the resume and both said punts are far more difficult, both in the flight pattern of the ball and the required awareness of the oncoming coverage unit. Takes a lot of reps to get used to the different punt types and flight patterns. Dorsey has little experience doing it, but liked to rep it in individual during camp when time permitted. He was No. 4 on the depth chart against the Colts, if it had gotten to that point.

I hope Sorsdal can make a third year leap next season, similar to Barnes, Levi, and Jamo have done. Mr Holmes has made me greedy. Nowdays, I want and expect every draft pick to hit. This O line is starting to show it's age. Not so much in declining performance, but injuries.

unbelievable turnaround on this one, Justin! I only played rugby in college but I know what they mean about the different flight patterns on the ball depending on how it is kicked. This answer makes me appreciate Jack Fox more, which I did not think was possible!

The ability to ask a question and have you ask around the locker room is why I subscribed… FWIW.
